    Test your speed and stamina with this famous challenge to climb the three peaks of Abergavenny in just one day. The original route (20 miles and over 5000 feet of ascent) covers the Blorenge, Sugarloaf and Skirrid.

    Twice a year the fair comes to Abergavenny and takes over the Fairfield car-park. A tradition dating back centuries.

    2014 sees the return of The British Cycling National Championships to the cycling festival. The festival has a full week of cycling events and races including the Iron Mountain Sportif. You'll also get a chance to see some of Wales's best cyclists in action.

    Carnival day is one of the highlights of the year in Abergavenny, featuring a parade of floats from local schools, businesses and other organisations which follows a route around the town and finishes in Bailey Park. The park hosts a large number of events and stalls, making this a great family day out.

    During July and August, a programme of cultured events takes place, from Shakespeare in the grounds of the castle to open-air musical concerts in Linda Vista gardens.

    Possibly Abergavenny's biggest event, the Abergavenny Food Festival attracts visitors from all over the country. A programme of culinary events are spread out across a number of venues in the town, with demonstrations from top chefs, specialist exhibitors and various entertainments. Described as the 'Glastonbury of Food Festivals' (Carole Cadwalladr, Observer Food Monthly), this festival just gets better and better. Expect to try out all kinds of food and drink samples from local and unique suppliers, and definitely expect to be taking plenty home with you!

An annual event which takes place during Spring Bank Holiday weekend. The event champions and celebrates local artists and their work.
